What to Bring List:

Note: WeVince Carter Sanctuary are open year round, and the list will have seasonal variations as well as what to bring at any time. We do have a complimentary guest laundry for client use as well.

P.S. Even though we are located in sunny Florida, this doesn’t mean it’s warm all the time. See local weather.

What to bring at anytime of the year:

  1. Comfortable casual clothing (non revealing; i.e. jeans, T-shirts, V-necks)
  2. Shorts
  3. Indoor shoes, i.e. slippers, tennis shoes, etc.
  4. Outdoor shoes, i.e. hiking boots, or sturdy walking shoes.
  5. Bathrobe
  6. Current prescription medication
  7. Toiletries, shave kit, hair dryer, your normal bathroom items.
  8. Bathing suit, (non revealing)
  9. Gym wear & shoes (for cool and warm conditions)
  10. Biking clothes (if you wish to mountain bike)
  11. Light jacket
  12. Waterproof jacket
  13. Sunscreen
  14. Sweatshirt or sweater
  15. Cell phone to check your incoming calls (No outgoing cell phone calls)*
  16. An open-mindedness to learning, healing, growing, and living.
  17. Positive attitude

What to bring in the winter, late fall, early spring:

  1. Warm socks
  2. Hat
  3. Gloves/mittens
  4. Winter coat

What not to Bring:

  1. Recreational reading material
  2. Laptop computer or desktop computer**
  3. Camera
  4. Mouthwash that contains alcohol
  5. Vitamins, supplements, powders
  6. Revealing clothing or clothing that promotes drugs or alcohol
  7. Foods, snacks, candies, soda pop or energy drinks

* Phone Policy: (Including Cell Phones)

Personal cell phones are allowed to be placed in the custody of the client’s primary therapist while staying at the Vince Carter Sanctuary. Personal cell phones are only allowed for the purpose of retrieving incoming calls. Placing outgoing calls on a personal cell phone is strictly prohibited for safety reasons. Outgoing calls may be placed with the approval of the client’s recovery team on one of the Sanctuary’s monitored land-line telephones.

** Computer Policy: (Including Personal Laptops and Desktops)

Personal Laptop and Desktop computers are prohibited during the Primary Care Treatment Program. Through the approval of the client’s recovery team, we do offer clients the use one of our monitored desktop computers. If a client remains for our Extended Care Treatment Program, the recovery team may extend personal laptop use on a limited monitored basis.
