A safe, medically monitored detox is another fundamental component of rehabs. The detox team at the Vince Carter Sanctuary is composed of highly competent health care professionals with a proven record of success. Medicine such as Burenorphine (Suboxone® or Subutex®) and Vivitrol® may be prescribed by one of our certified physicians during these transitions.
At our facilities clients are evaluated weekly by their treatment team, consisting of their individual therapist or clinician, recovery coach, physician, nurse, assessment therapist, activities therapist, coordinator of intake-intervention and aftercare, a psychiatrist for clients with co-occurring/dual-diagnosis issues, and the program director.

This is a brand new program being piloted at the Vince Carter Sanctuary for addiction treatment called cetacean therapy, where our clients are given the opportunity to swim with dolphins and interact with dolphins, which is something that promises to be a truly life changing experience for many decide to take part in this new program.

The 12-step treatment modality was created by Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and adopted by other fellowships including substance abuse recovery groups such as Narcotics Anonymous (NA) and Cocaine Anonymous (CA). By providing both a foundation and a constant support, it has helped millions find lasting recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.
At the Vince Carter Sanctuary, we use the 12-step program to assist clients, alcoholic or not, through recovery. Step work, a framework for a recovery lifestyle, continues as the client moves through treatment at the Vince Carter Sanctuary, and is a major component of our AFTERCARE PROGRAM.
The treatment modality created by (AA), and adopted by other fellowships such as (NA) and (CA), provides both a foundation and a constant support for recovery. It has helped millions find lasting recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.
We also encourage clients of faith to incorporate their faith into their 12-step recovery plan. Depending on the individual client's faith, he or she will have the opportunity to attend religious services each week.

The Vince Carter Sanctuary is open to new patients across Central Florida and nationwide, including but not limited to Sunrise, Clearwater, Jacksonville, Kissimmee, Fort Walton Beach, Milton, Venice Beach, North Beach, South Beach, Tampa and the mid state. We are a private, fee-for-service hospital that is currently contracted with several insurance carriers. (We are not currently Medicare approved.)
